Remember when you were a kid (I grew up in the 80’s, don’t judge me) growing up in the Midwest (I’m from the midwest, don’t judge me) and the joys of comfort food and quick meals were staples of American families? Aaaah…meat and potatoes, ham and eggs, chicken ala king, and beef stew. Now, beef stew. Armour Beef Stew. Yes, I ate it. And I loved it! Why? Was it the salt? The meat-like substance? Spongy veggies? I’m not sure. Maybe it was so I wouldn’t get the look of death from the ‘rents. Anyhoo, I had a late night at work and walked over the CVS and found an old friend…Armour Beef Stew.
Sooooo…I thought I’d go back to old days and taste nostalgia and how wonderfully delicious it was. Um…seriously. I ate this shit??!! Ya, uh, It wasn’t as hearty as it used to be, and the presentation didn’t seem to wet my beak a bit. It looked a bit like dog food. A couple of bites in I realized how some things should never be revisited, like Armour Beef Stew, Zoobas, and that awful crack cocaine habit in the late 90's.
